An urban terrain pram is considered the “in-between” or the “crossover” when comparing them to ultra-compact prams and all-terrain (off-road) prams.

Urban terrain prams are suitable for urban surfaces such as pathways, paved walkways, malls, etc. Although urban terrain prams will cope on all-terrain surfaces, the ride might be slightly bumpier for your baby and it might be slightly harder for you to push and maneuverer the pram.

Below is a brief overview of each Urban Terrain Pram sold at Precious Cargo:

ALFAKIDS DELUXE STROLLER

The Alfakids Deluxe Stroller is a budget friendly stroller suitable from birth (with infant seat or carry cot) until 15kgs (approx. 3 years old).

The pram is available in two colours: Grey or Navy Blue.

Can the Alfakids Deluxe Stroller be used as a travel system?

Yes, the Alfakids Carry Cot and Maxi Cosi car seats (with adapters) can be clicked onto the frame of the pram to form a convenient travel system.

Features:

Easy one-hand fold and unfold mechanism.
Compact and light. It should fit into most vehicle boots with ease
Comes with a carry strap for easy carrying once folded.
The pram seat pack can be used world-facing and parent facing
It can recline flat for your child to sleep.
The pram canopy is quite small but can be extended slightly when unzipping the extra extension.
The handlebar can be adjusted to 3 different heights
The pram is easy to push and maneuverer on flat, smooth surfaces
Quite a large basket underneath the pram

Suspension and wheels

It does not have suspension.
Smaller wheels with minimal tread
The wheels are made from very dense rubber for shock absorption and to prevent punctures
Due to the lack of suspension and smaller wheels, it isn’t really suitable for use on uneven, bumpy surfaces, or on dirt pathways, grass, and stones.

Overall quality

Due to the light weight of the pram, it is not very sturdy
The fabrics seem durable and stylish

CYBEX BALIOS S LUX

The Cybex Balios S Lux Stroller comes from Cybex’s Gold range. It is suitable from birth (with bassinet or infant seat) until 22kgs (approximately 5 years old).

The Cybex Balios S Lux Stroller is available in two colours; Deep Black or Soho Grey.

Can the Balios S Lux be used as a travel system?

Yes, the Cybex Cot S bassinet or Cocoon, as well as Cybex, BeSafe, and Maxi Cosi Group 0+ infant seats (with adapters) can be clicked onto the pram frame to form a convenient travel system.

Features:

Simple one-hand fold and unfold mechanism.
It has quite a big fold with the pram seat pack in it and it is also quite heavy
The pram seat pack can be separated from the frame when folding which makes the fold less bulky and substantially lighter
The pram seat pack can be used world facing or parent facing
It can recline flat for your child to sleep
The sun canopy is big and can be extended even more with the extension unzipped
The handlebar can be adjusted to different heights
The pram is easy to push and maneuverer
Comes with quite a big basket underneath the pram
It can be used for an older sibling with the kid board

It has 4-wheel suspension
It has bigger wheels with adequate tread
The wheels are made from “no-puncture foam”
It has been designed for use on urban all-terrain surfaces such as pathways, parks, malls, cobble stones, etc.
Although it would manage on rougher terrain occasionally, it isn’t intended for use off-road.

CYBEX BALIOS S 2-IN-1 PRAM

The Cybex Balios S 2-in-1 pram also comes from Cybex’s Gold range. It is suitable from birth until 22kgs (approximately 5 years old). This pram is approved from birth due to the interchangeable bassinet and seat pack fabric sets.

The Pram comes with 2 pieces of fabric. One piece is the bassinet fabric that attaches onto the pram frame. This turns the pram frame into a bassinet and the mattress is included. Once your baby outgrows the bassinet at 9kgs, you then detach the bassinet fabric and replace it with the seat pack fabric, making it suitable from 6 months until 22kgs.

Can the Balios S 2-in-1 be used as a travel system?

Yes, Cybex, BeSafe, and Maxi Cosi infant seats (with adapters) can be clicked onto the pram frame to form a convenient travel system. The following infant seats are compatible with the Balios S 2-in-1 Pram:

All infant seats sold at Precious Cargo (excluding the Maxi Cosi Mica Pro Eco, The Maxi Cosi Jade, and The BeSafe iZi Twist/Turn B)

Features:

Features are identical to the Cybex Balios S Lux. The only difference is that the Balios 2-in-1 pram seat pack cannot fold be folded with the frame which means you need to separate the two if you have a small to average sized boot

The Cybex Priam and E-Priam are luxury strollers from Cybex’s Platinum range. They are suitable from birth (with bassinet or infant car seat) until 22kgs (approximately 5 years old). The Cybex Priam and E-Priam are available in a wide variety of colours and designs. You can choose between the different frame colours and seat pack colours.

What is the difference between the Cybex Priam and the Cybex E-Priam?

The Cybex Priam and E-Priam are exactly the same frame and seat packs, but the E-Priam frame has a built-in motor that kicks in to help you when pushing the pram uphill or downhill. This does make the E-Priam more expensive.

Can the Cybex Priam/E-Priam be used as a travel system?

Yes, The Cybex Priam/E-Priam Lux Carry Cot, The Cybex Lite Cot, as well as All Cybex infant seats (with adapters) can be clicked onto the pram frame to form a convenient travel system.

Features:

Both the Cybex Priam and E-Priam have “beach mode” and “stair mode” which makes it easy to pull your child in the pram on beach sand or up a flight of stairs
