The Maxi Cosi Kore Pro is an iSize approved child booster seat which is forward facing only. As with all boosters, your child is secured to the booster seat using the vehicle’s 3-point seatbelt. Booster seats raise your child up so that the vehicle’s 3-point seatbelt is positioned safely over the child’s body instead of on the neck and on the abdomen where they could sustain life threatening injuries in an accident. High back boosters like the Kore Pro also offer side impact protection to the head and torso. The Kore Pro can be used with or without isofix anchors which makes it a great option for all vehicles.
Seatbelts are designed to protect adults over 1.5m tall, and can cause severe or even fatal injuries in children. Children strapped with just a seatbelt before they are tall enough to achieve a safe seatbelt fit were found to be 3 times more likely to be injured in a crash than adults.
Booster seats are belt positioning devices, in other words, they position the vehicle seatbelt into a more safe position across your child's torso.Most highback boosters have deep, padded side wings to offer protection and support to the head, neck and torso in the event of a collision, as well as side impact protection. Backless boosters raise a child up to get a better lapbelt fit, but they offer no side impact protection or support to the head or neck.
A child is only booster ready when they meet ALL 5 criteria:
At least 4 years old.
Meet the weight of 15kg
Meet the minimum height limit of 100cm
Be responsible enough to sit properly 100% of the time, even while asleep.
Have a safe belt fit.
