The Cybex Cloud T is the new and improved version of the original Cloud Z2. It is an i-Size approved rear facing infant car seat. It can be installed with seatbelt, or it can be installed with the Cybex Base T isofix base. It forms part of the Cybex Platinum T-line; with the Cloud T infant seat and Sirona T toddler seat both fitting onto the Base T isofix base. The unique, innovative rotation mechanism of the Base T allows the car seat to be swiveled to the side of the car door for easier entry and exit.

WHAT ARE THE WEIGHT AND HEIGHT LIMITS OF THE cybex cloud T?

The Cloud T is a Group 0+ infant car seat, approved from birth/45cm  to 13kg/87cm.

This makes it a suitable option for newborn babies, and usually lasts until approximately 18 months. When used with the Base T isofix base, it is i-Size approved.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE Cybex cloud T?

The flexible structure of the material absorbs the forces of an impact, and helps guide it away from the baby.

The Cloud T also has Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P) System. There is an L.S.P on both side of the car seat, but you only need to extend the one that is closest to the door. The very first impact forces of an accident are reduced by the extended side protector that is closest to the door. The car seat’s flexible shell reduces up to 25% of the impact forces, directing them away from your baby.

The Cloud T i-Size features a removable, well-padded newborn inlay, which ensures a near-flat lying position of your baby. This helps to reduce the risk of the baby's head flopping forward while asleep, which can lead to serious breathing problems. The inlay has firm inserts on the sides to protect and support your baby. Along with the near-flat lying position, the Cloud T can be reclined in the car (only on the isofix base) for an even flatter position for your baby.

The newborn inlay should be removed when your baby is approximately 60 cm.

When installed without the isofix base, ADAC scored it an incredible 1.0 for safety! It displayed a very low risk of injury in a frontal crash and very low risk of injury in a side impact. This is currently the highest scoring belted infant seat available in South Africa

When installed with the Base T isofix base, ADAC gave it a score of 1.3 with a very low risk of injury in a frontal crash and very low risk in side impact collision.

Overall, with these results, the Cloud T is among the top 3 highest scoring infant seats on the market!

WHAT ARE THE COMFORT FEATURES OF THE cybex cloud T?

The Cloud T i-Size can be reclined to a lie-flat position inside the car and then to an even flatter recline position outside the car, either on the pram or on the floor. It has 3 recline positions in total- normal position, car recline position and outside of car recline position. These recline options make it safer for babies when using the car seat for prolonged periods.

The in-car recline position can only be used if installed with the Base T isofix base. The seat cannot be reclined when installing it with the seatbelt.

It has a longer legrest and lie-flat reclining angle, developed by German CYBEX safety experts. This feature allows your child to lie comfortably in an ergonomically correct position in the car and on the pram.

cloud z rotation

The innovative rotation mechanism of the Base T makes it simple to swivel the Cloud T i-Size towards the car door, making it easier to get your baby in and out of the car without straining your back. The Base T has handles to rotate the seat making it easy to do with just one hand.

An integrated, fold-away XXL sun canopy offers premium sun and wind protection with UPF50.

HOW IS THE cloud T INSTALLED?

The Cloud T can be installed without a base, using the vehicle’s 3-point seatbelt. The Cloud T cannot swivel or be reclined when used without Base T.

Otherwise it can be installed with the Cybex Base T isofix base. When used with the Base T, the Cloud T can swivel 90 degrees towards the door, making it easier to get your baby in and out of the car. The base has audiovisual indicators, making it almost foolproof to install.

It is quick and easy to install with the base, once the isofix base is installed and left in the car. Simply click the Cloud T on and off the base every time you need to take your baby in or out of the car.

what is sensorsafe?

SensorSafe is a chest clip that attaches to the harness of the Cloud T. Your vehicle needs to have OBD (On Board Diagnostics) in order to work. The kit connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and provides essential alerts to help prevent critical situations: when your child unbuckles the clip, if your child is put at risk of heatstroke because of ambient temperature changes or from being left alone in the car, and if your child has been seated for too long.

HOW TO RemovE and wash the covers?

The Cloud T’s cover can easily be removed, and then washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle.

WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF THE cloud T?

Cybex recommends that the Cloud T not be used for longer than 8 years provided it has not been in a crash. Due to ageing and weather extremes, the quality of the material may change as the seat ages.

WHAT IS THE warranty on THE cloud T?

The warranty is 3 years on the seat excluding textiles. The Cybex importer in South Africa carries the tools and can import spare parts if needed, to carry out any repairs.

is the cloud T compatible with my car?

A rear facing car seat must never be installed in front of an active airbag. The Cloud T is compatible with cars equipped with full 3-point seatbelts. It cannot be installed with a lapbelt. In order to use the Base T isofix base, your car must have isofix brackets and no underfloor storage compartments.

When to remove newborn insert

The newborn inlay should be removed after your baby is 60 cm (approx. 3 months) to provide more space for your child. To remove the newborn inlay, remove the shoulder pads. Then remove the newborn inlay and place the shoulder pads back on the shoulder belts.

WHICH PRAMS/ STROLLERS IS THE CLOUD T COMPATIBLE WITH?

In combination with CYBEX strollers, the Cloud T i-Size transforms into a practical travel system for the first months, so your sleeping baby can rest with optimal protection with the backrest reclined on the pram. The Cloud T is also compatible with Thule, Qtus, BabyZen, GB, Bugaboo, Mimi, Quinny, Stokke, Silvercross and Uppababy.
