The Cybex Soultion T i-Fix is an i-size approved child booster seat which can only be used forward facing. It is also only one of two boosters that have a weight limit of 50kgs (as opposed to the normal 36kgs).

When using the Solution T i-Fix, your child is secured to the booster seat using the vehicle’s 3-point seat belt. The Solution T i-Fix ensures that the seatbelt is positioned correctly over your child’s body to ensure maximum protection in an accident.

The Solution T i-Fix can be used with or without the isofix anchors which makes it a good option if having to move the seat between cars where one does not have isofix capabilities.

WHAT ARE THE WEIGHT AND HEIGHT LIMITS OF THE cybex solution T i-Fix?

The Solution T i-Fix is a Group 2/3 approved child booster seat. This means that it is approved for use from at least 100cm and 15kgs until 150cm or 50kgs.

It is currently one of two booster seats available with a weight limit of 50kgs. Most other boosters have a weight limit of 36kgs.

This is a great option for children who are heavier than average.

This seat should last a child from 4 – 12 years old (approx.) for the average sized child.

We do not recommend the use of a booster seat for children under the age of 4 years old.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE cybex solution T i-Fix?

The Solution T i-Fix is built with an energy- absorbing shell which works to absorb the forces of an impact and therefore provide excellent protection to the child. Additionally, the Solution T i-Fix contains an extendable Linear Side-impact protection system which enhances the safety and protection during a side collision up to 25%. This should be extended on the side closest to the door. It can be extended by simply pushing the one side of the LSP.

The force of a side-impact collision is absorbed in a linear series of reactions through the use of protective side cushions, along with the shoulder and head protectors.

side impact

At the same time, the body's kinetic energy caused by the impact is absorbed at a very early stage and the head is actively led into a safe position.

Using the isofix on the Solution T i-Fix will increase stability and decrease movement in the vehicle. However, the seat can also be used in vehicles without isofix anchors without compromising your child’s safety.

The Solution T i-Fix was given a score of 2.1 for safety by ADAC with a very low risk of injury in a frontal collision and average risk of injury in a side collision.

WHAT ARE THE COMFORT FEATURES OF THE cybex solution T i-Fix?

The Solution T i-Fix contains sufficient padding all round for the best protection and comfort. The headreast has 12 height adjustable positions which ensures that the vehicle’s seat belt fits safely and comfortably over your child as they grow.

The Solution T i-Fix has an automatic width adjustable backrest that widens as the headrest is raised higher. This accommodates your growing child’s height and width. This is especially useful for children with broader shoulders or wider torsos. Unlike most boosters, the sides of the Solution T i-Fix move upwards and outwards with the headrest to ensure the child’s shoulders, neck, and torso are protected within the shell at all times no matter how tall they are.

The Solution T i-Fix has a one of a kind reclining headrest independent of the backrest’s recline ability. The reclining headrest ensures your child’s head doesn’t fall forward if they fall asleep and therefore increasing safety because your child’s head is protected at all times inside the protective shell of the seats headrest.

air ventilation

The Solution T i-Fix contains built in ventilation system which ensures the seat is always at an optimal temperature to prevent your child from overheating on hotter days.

The seat of the Solution T i-Fix is extra wide and deep which gives your child adequate space and comfort from the padding. The Solution T i-Fix is easy and quick to adjust with a one hand adjustable mechanism.

Furthermore, the Solution T i-Fix has a reclining adjustable back rest which will ensure the backrest is flat against the vehicle backrest making it usable in any vehicle no matter the angle of the backrest.

HOW IS THE cybex solution T i-Fix INSTALLED?

With the optional isofix arms, the Solution T i-Fix can be installed with or without isofix. The vehicle’s 3-point seatbelt must be used in both cases as this is what secures the child to the seat.

If the Solution T i-Fix is used without isofix, you should always strap the seatbelt around the seat when not in use to prevent it from becoming a projectile in an accident.

HOW TO RemovE and wash the covers?

The cover of the seat consists of 5 parts (2x headrest, 2x backrest and booster). These are held in position at several places by press-studs, Velcro and elastic tapes. Once all have been released, the single parts of the cover can be removed. In order to put the covers back on the seat, follow the removal instructions in the reverse order

The covers can be washed in the washing machine on a 30 degree delicate cycle and then hung to dry out of direct sunlight.

WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF THE cybex solution T I-FIX?

Cybex recommend using the Solution T I-Fix for no longer than 9 years. This is only applicable if the seat has not been in an accident, dropped/damaged, or on an airplane unboxed.

The seat must be replaced after an accident.

WHAT IS THE warranty on THE solution T I-FIX?

Cybex South Africa offer a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty will cover replacements or repairs if there is a proven manufacturing fault, and does not cover wear and tear and misuse.

is the cybex solution T I-FIX compatible with my car?

The Solution T I-Fix can be used in any vehicle that has 3-point seatbelts. The Solution T I-Fix cannot be used on a vehicle seat that only has a lapbelt and it cannot be used in front of an active airbag in some cars as the force of the airbag deploying can severely injure and even kill a child.

The Solution T I-Fix can be used with or without isofix. Therefore, the vehicle does not need to have isofix anchors to use the Solution T I-Fix safely.

How to adjust the Solution T I-Fix according to your child’s height?

The seats headrest can be adjusted for your child’s height by simply lifting up the lever on the back of the headrest and simultaneously lifting or lowering the headrest to the correct height for your child.

The seatbelt must be threaded through the green seatbelt slots on either side of the headrest (the side that the seatbelt extends from the vehicle) and then under the arm rest and clicked into the vehicle buckle. The shoulder belt part of the seat belt should sit comfortably between the child’s neck and shoulder.

Ensure that the green belt guides are not touching your child’s shoulder and that the shoulder belt is not cutting into your child’s neck. The lap belt must sit over the top of the thighs and not across the stomach.

It is very important to note that both the shoulder belt and lap belt must be threaded UNDER the armrests before clicking the seatbelt into the buckle. The child’s head should be protected by the shell of the headrest at all times.

General rule of thumb: If the seatbelt is cutting into your child’s neck then it is too high and must be lowered. If the seatbelt is slipping off of your child’s shoulder then it is too low and must be lifted higher.
